Family Child Care ProviderWhat is FCC?
FCC (Family Child Care) is an in home child care program administered by a Family Child Care Coordinator from the 61 MSG Services' Family Member Programs Flight. Parents have the option of selecting one of the current Family Child Care providers that are certified to provide home child care. Certified providers receive initial and annual training in child development, safety, CPR, first aid, food handling, nutrition, child abuse prevention and other career-related topics. Each FCC provider establishes her/his own contract, hours of operation and fees. All providers are inspected by various base agencies and must accomplish licensing annually. Unannounced visits to all homes are performed by the Family Child Care Coordinator to insure that child care guidelines and expectations are followed by each provider. Only trained and certified FCC providers are authorized to provide child care in government quarters.

You Can Make A Difference!
At a minimum start up cost to you, you can operate your own home-based business, set your own hours, be with your children and care for other children at home. The FCC staff will train and help you provide responsible, safe, in-home care for children 2 weeks to 13 years in your government home or affiliated off- base home.

Far from simple babysitting service, the FCC Program is looking for individuals who wish to be child care professionals. You must be 18 years of age or older, able to speak English, in good mental and physical health and willing to undergo a comprehensive background check. After you complete a basic orientation program, you can set your own hours and fees and begin to care for children on an hourly, part-day or full-day schedule.

Unlicensed Child Care
Did you know that providing care for a child other than your own for more that 10 Hours a week & receiving pay for it is prohibited on Fort MacArthur?

According to AFI 34-276, home child care is considered a private business & requires licensing and inspections from the Family Child Care Program on base. Contact the FCC office for more information.
